Our Mission statement

The Christian education of our children answers the command of the Lord Jesus Christ, who said, "Let the Children alone and do not hinder them from coming to Me, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these." (Matt. 19:14). Therefore, the specific purpose and endeavor of the Hungarian Reformed Youth Camp is to work hand-in-hand with our church's clergy and lay leaders to guide the youth of our congregations to saving faith and a personal relationship with Jesus, the Christ.

Our Camp staff is committed to providing the youth of our congregations with sound biblical teaching of God's moral absolutes, to modeling our Christian faith through a wide array of programs and fellowship activities, and to encouraging them to build friendships among themselves in order to strengthen the body of Christ, the church.

At the same time, we adhere to both the Old and the New Testament injunctions of God to teach our children His divine attributes, laws, and commandments. The Mosaic model: "Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words which I am commanding you today shall be on your heart, and you shall teach them to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up." (Deut. 6:4-7). "And the second is like unto it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Matt. 22:19). We are called to 'train up a child in the way he should go," so that "even when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Prov. 22:6). Therefore, the Camp leadership views its role as an adjunct to the church and family in nurturing, fostering, and facilitating the faith of our youth. Our aim is to expand and strengthen their understanding of God's truths. His self-revelation through Christ Jesus, and the ongoing work of His Holy Spirit in our lives. Our desire is to convert their natural curiosity for seeking to know God into a lifetime of commitment, obedience, and dependence on His love, goodness, mercy, and grace, to serve His glory, and the benefit of our fellow men.

We endeavor to accomplish the will of God intentionally in a safe learning environment where our youth can learn the joy of Christian fellowship and enjoy the excitement of walking with Christ.Hungarian Reformed Youth Camp is a partnership between the Hungarian Reformed Church in America and Calvin Synod United Church of Christ. It is an opportunity for students ages 12-18 (just completed high school) to experience a week of fellowship and learning with youth from other Hungarian Reformed churches and beyond. The camp experience encompasses Biblical teaching in the Reformed tradition, personal spiritual growth, mission work at Bethlen Communities, Hungarian heritage, life-long friendships, and fun!
